Late-Italian Renaissance Costume Bodice Close-up

Notice how the frog closures or "froglings" as they where called in Elizabethan times get larger and longer towards the neck. This makes a small "V" that is filled with the darker velvet that is also used on the shoulder rolls and fold backs of the outer skirt.
