Elizabethan Middle Class Trim

These photos show close ups of the hem, sleeve and front closure. I chose to use small amounts of black fabric and another shade of gray. Even small amounts of black fabric would usually not be affordable to someone of this class. But because this costume is that of a servant to a Noble person, it was intended to be second hand. All the trim is cut on the bias so that it will curve along the hem, etc. Note the splice in the medium gray along the hem.
