Elizabethan Arming Doublet Sleeve

In this photo you can see the quilting pattern of the sleeve and that it is a bent elbow type sleeve. The outer and the inner part of the sleeve are hand stitched together after each has been separately quilted and bound with bias tape. The ties are sewn on to the doublet and are threaded though the ilets in the sleeve head to attach the sleeves. I did volenteer to wash the rust stains out of the doublet. Rit dye makes a rust stain remover product however, I was quickly told that the rust stains were wanted and should not be removed.
